On our Forest Walks, we always talk about the kids, their adventures, discoveries, and excitement. But have you ever wondered what happens when the staff take a step back?
Sometimes, the best thing you can do for yourself and the children is to step back, breathe, and just be.
And in those moments, something shifts. Eyes open. Perspectives change. Hearts get a little lighter.
One staff member shared: “I’ve always seen edible mushrooms in the supermarket or on my plate. This is my first time seeing them fresh in the wild!” 🍄🟫
Another reflected: “I learned to let go. That other people can also do a good job caring for the children.”
And of course, some things never change. Like their excitement for food! While the kids were on their adventure, the staff huddled together, whispering (as if the kids might hear them ), “What’s for dinner tonight, Coach?”
Because here’s the thing, we don’t just take care of the children, we take care of the caregivers too. And that means making sure everyone gets nourishing, delicious food to fuel both body and soul.
A huge shout-out to our incredible coaches, who kept the children safe, engaged, and in awe of nature while the staff took a well-deserved break. Your patience, energy, and ability to create magical learning moments make these walks so special.
This is what makes our Forest Walks different. It’s not just a walk. It’s a moment of discovery, a chance to reset, and a shared experience that lingers long after we’ve left the woods.
